Advisory 1 Level

The current patients are occupying 0 – 75% of the emergency department's capacity, based only on the number of patients and not accounting for any atypical acuity. |
Advisory 2 Level

The current patients are occupying 76 – 100% of the emergency department's capacity, based only on the number of patients and not accounting for any atypical acuity. |
Advisory 3 Level

The current patients are occupying 101 – 130% of the emergency department's capacity, based only on the number of patients and not accounting for any atypical acuity. |
Advisory 4 Level

The current patients are occupying 131% or more of the emergency department's capacity, based only on the number of patients and not accounting for any atypical acuity. |
Code Black
The emergency department is effectively closed to EMS traffic due to unsafe conditions (e.g., utility failure, fire, other threat)
Reroute
EMS units at the emergency department are reporting extensive delays in transferring care of their patients to emergency department staff, advising other EMS units to avoid going there, if possible.
Trauma ByPass
The trauma center's capacity to care for new patients is temporarily exceeded, and trauma patients should be transported to a different appropriate facility.
Trauma Capacity Advisory
The capacity of the trauma center is exceeded, and EMS units should consult with the center before committing to transport a patient there.
